Join us as bestselling historian Andrew Nagorski takes a fresh look at 1941, the year when Hitler’s miscalculations and policy of terror propelled Churchill, FDR, and Stalin into a powerful new alliance. In his lecture Nagorski illuminates the actions of the major characters of this pivotal year as never before, and reveals how 1941 set the end of the Holocaust in motion.

Andrew Nagorski is an award-winning journalist and author who spent more than three decades as a foreign correspondent and editor for Newsweek. From 2008 to April 2014, he was vice president and director of public policy for the EastWest Institute, an international affairs think tank. Nagorski is now based in St. Augustine, Florida but continues to travel extensively, writing for numerous publications. Both of his most recent books — Hitlerland: American Eyewitnesses to the Nazi Rise to Power (Simon & Schuster, 2012) and The Nazi Hunters (Simon & Schuster, 2016) — have received rave reviews. His new book The Year Germany Lost the War: 1941 will be published in June 2019.  Advance copies will be available for purchase at the event and The Mount’s Bookstore.
