Archduke Geza von Habsburg returns to give a visual presentation on his great, great grandmother “Sisi, the Tragic Empress: A Great, Great Grandson’s Perspective.” Moving from previous subjects, his expertise on Faberge, the Czarist Russian jewelry firm and Vienna’s Museum of Fine Arts that holds vast artistic treasures once belonging to the dynastic family, the speaker will turn to Elizabeth, considered a great 19th century beauty. As wife of Emperor Franz Joseph, she felt oppressed by Viennese court life. She took refuge in travel, then suffered when their only son committed suicide and died at the hands of an assassin. The event is $55 including Viennese refreshments. Seating is limited. Call us for reservations at (413) 637-3206.
